| Ray Issa, Joya Salon Artistic Director, instructs and oversees the team of hairstylists in Joya Spa. With specialties ranging from precision straight cuts to loose layers and exacting color techniques, he is often referred to as a “Stylist to the stars.” Issa has styled the hair of many famous models, actresses, actors, socialites and others featured on hit television shows including Blind Date, Regis and Kelly, Fox News, Sex & the City, and others. At Joya Salon, Issa’s responsibilities include maintaining and creating stylish and new looks for individuals to keep them fashion savvy, helping his clients maintain healthy and manageable hair, and helping his clients style their hair to best complement their personalities and careers. His visionary artistic direction educates the salon team on new trends in the industry and anticipated looks for the future. Issa grew up in New York City and started his career as a freelance artist in the fashion industry, during which he worked with many notable hairdressers. He then moved from freelancing to leading the color department at John Megaris Salon on 5th Avenue. Within 32 months, Issa more than quintupled his departments’ weekly revenue. He went on to open Artista Salon and Spa in 1997 as the Artistic and Educational Director until he sold the salon in 2006. |
